So I picked up this new toy today while at Best Buy. I got a Kodak Zi8 and plan to use it to start posting video blogs. Among other things.... I think this camera has it's place, and I am sure I will find it.. It probably does somethings well, and other things not so well... It is charging right now, so I will let you know later... Look for my review of this weekends race via a video blog...

Also went to Supercross this weekend in Houston, pure fun. Walked around the pits and saw some of the riders, and lots of 'chicks'. Seems the 'sex sells' is very much alive in the Supercross arena. I was shocked since there were lots of kids around as this is also very much a family sport, but I guess there are enough of the 18+ year old d00ds that like that stuff... I surely wasn't going to complain... ...

Also I have not commented on Last weeks Daytona. I am very happy for J-Mac and that team. It was neat to see the Bass Pro Shops car in Victory lane at Daytona since I am or want to be an outdoors person, hunting, fishing, etc.. And it seems he really enjoyed it a lot. He tweets all the time so that was neat too.

The PotHoles - Yes this made the race rather long, and drawn out. Ruined the race for me, as the breaks just take away from the continuity of the race. Daytona is tough to watch anyways due to the restrictor plates. Not my favorite racing but it is Nascar so I won't complain.

Danica saying yesterday that she sucked was quite funny, but honestly who else has the time she is getting to 'figure out' nascar. Other drivers get one or two races and if they don't produce (and don't have money/sponsorship) they are gone. I guess thats what we get with her, it's nice it will add some fans, but I am already sick of the "Danica" updates. Or "Danica has raced her way to 31st", well if you call racing your way to 31st due to others dropping out then ....

It sux, she took the ride away from Kelly Bires at Daytona. Although I don't think he could have competed with the Gibbs cars he is now one race behind the curve, I would not be surprised to see him have a great year, but maybe we talk about what could have been.......

Getting into electronics and projects these days, been building some kits, and some simple projects. Currently working on a 3x3 LED cube tied to a Arduino. I will post some pictures and commentary as I get closer to the finish. I enjoy it, gets me away from the TV and stimulates my brain...

So of course today starts the traditional 3 day sale weekend. I am not sure I am going to go out and venture into this wonderland but I kinda want to. You see I need a stool for the desk/workbench I built this past week. It sits higher than a normal table so a regular chair makes me look like a 5 year old at a thanksgiving dinner. Just a bit more than my head appears above the edge of the table. Ok it's not that bad, but you get my point. We here in H-Town have a place called The Dump I know it sounds bad, but its a place where all those items that didn't sell during the year, are 'dumped' for lack of a better word. I have always wanted to go and check the place out, so I am thinking today I just might. Seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to do, and you never know I just might find a stool that turns me into an adult..

Ok I just checked the web site, and there are multiple dumps around the country. So maybe you can go and give it a go as well...

So Xmas is upon us again, boy how the year has gone. It seems like just last week I was ordering stuff off the Internet for my mom and dad for last years xmas. Well maybe that was since I did that again, and ordered the same stuff. I tell you online ordering is the bomb, I get them Cheese of the month, and Breakfast of the month gifts and they love it. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

I have not decided what I am going to get my self for xmas this year. Well I say that, but I probably know. I am looking at a new camera, it's quite nice, and does HD video. That is pretty slick. But with a new camera comes the wants of a new lens or two, I want to get into Macro photography, and that stuff isn't cheap. This is the LENS I am looking at. Of course with all hobbies comes more spending, and I have a few..

Lets see, dirt bike, Harley, 4-5 computers, ATV, Cameras, Electronic gizmos, etc... I am just a big boy at heart, and what better time than now to be a big 'little' boy? Yes this time of year is fun, (Espically since I don't have to work all week, and can go play...)...and exciting for all.

Oh yea, I think my PS3 got hit by lightning, the same time my main Linux box took a hit and fried the graphics card, that sent me on a wild goose chase, as what better time to put more mem in a machine than when you have to open it up and put in a new vid card. Well it turns out the first 4gig I got was bad, the second 4gig didn't work either, it seems my POS mobo only likes one stick at a time. Now it's time for a new MB ... New processor, etc... It's how it goes.. My buddy is pushing me to get a new one as well just so we have something to mess with/play with...

The video card install went well, upgraded to a Nvidia 9600GT (Two monitors of course)...It's back to working now, but only with 2 GIG, how do I get along ...

UBUNTU KARMIC is here.

I am currently downloading the upgrade on my laptop to give it a go before I upgrade all my other boxes. I have read a bit about it, and it seems nice, most seem to think it's better. Of course there are a couple that have issues, but that is to be expected. You can find the release HERE if your a windows user there is a LIVE CD that you can try with OUT installing it. Does not harm your install, if you like it you can even DUAL BOOT your machine with Linux so you can choose which OS to boot at boot time. I think if you get this far, you will find your booting more and more into linux.

My mom uses Linux on her laptop, as it became unusable with XP's updates and bloated miss management of memory. Linux made the machine work very well, and she uses it more than her desktop now.

So give it a go, don't fret, it's NOT ROCKET SCIENCE trust me... Trying new things can be fun, and I think you will like it.
