UBUNTU KARMIC is here.
I am currently downloading the upgrade on my laptop to give it a go before I upgrade all my other boxes. I have read a bit about it, and it seems nice, most seem to think it's better. Of course there are a couple that have issues, but that is to be expected. You can find the release HERE if your a windows user there is a LIVE CD that you can try with OUT installing it. Does not harm your install, if you like it you can even DUAL BOOT your machine with Linux so you can choose which OS to boot at boot time. I think if you get this far, you will find your booting more and more into linux.
My mom uses Linux on her laptop, as it became unusable with XP's updates and bloated miss management of memory. Linux made the machine work very well, and she uses it more than her desktop now.
So give it a go, don't fret, it's NOT ROCKET SCIENCE trust me... Trying new things can be fun, and I think you will like it.
Don't hesitate to give me a shout on Twitter and I will attempt to answer any questions you might have...

Virtual Box - Ubuntu and Windows 7
By Rp3 on May 7, 2009 | In Fun (Web, Movies, Life, etc..)
Ok so I have heard a lot about Virtual Box and how great it was, I have never tried to run it as I didn't think I needed it. Then I heard about Microsoft letting anyone download a WIN7 .iso and run it to report errors, etc.. So I thought what the hell, but of course I didn't want to install on one of my machines. The first thought that came to my mind was Virtual Box. So a quick search later, and I installed the latest ver for my Ubuntu X64 box. Then off to download WIN7. Also a quick search to see if anyone else has done this, and of course there were lots of people that tried. Alas I wasn't going to be first but at least I would give it a go.
So off we go, since Virtual Box works from ISO's I didn't have to do anything to the download from M$. I just fired up Virtual Box and started to create an environment, and low and behold there is a setup for WIN7 in there. I thought this is going to be hard...
Here you can see I have started the install process, so far so good.
Hey it wants this info so that must be good right?
