XGames 15 - Sweet
By Rp3 on Aug 1, 2010 | In Fun (Web, Movies, Life, etc..), Life
Been watching the Xgames over the weekend. It is amazing what some of these guys and girls do on skate boards, motorcycles, etc... Moto X Speed & Style is on now and is very fun to watch. Brian Deegan just lost to his teammate "Twitch" this is a very tight track so not sure anyone is ever going to pass anyone, but still fun to watch...
Have to head to Dallas this week, been traveling a lot lately, and look forward to no travel after this week for a week or so, not really sure yet....
Still playing with the EVO, and finally was able to convert a video to the EVO and have it work. Now to convert some good movies so I can show off my EVO. Using Handbrake to get the conversion done. Did a 14 min vid and it took about 8 mins, so a full size movie would probably take about 40 mins I guess to convert... Will have to try, maybe next weekend when I get home...
Ok back to Xgames16..

#nascar #michigan Race
By Rp3 on Jun 16, 2009 | In MotorSports (Nascar, F1, Bikes..)
First off, great race, it was a bit LOOOOONG in the middle as there were not any cautions or wrecks but ended fantastic.
Congrats to the Old Man Mark Martin. WAY TO GO D00d!
My thoughts on the race and weekend activities...
Truck and Nationwide race
Ahh too bad Kyle, wanna cry, at least you picked the place you would finish in the Nationwide race, awesome job. He just couldn't let Joey have it, I thought he would complain about something or the way he passed him, etc... But alas he did not. Ahhh, he was sad, so sad he didn't win... It's too bad for him.
Congrats to Colin Braun, his first Nascar win! Great job man.
Michigan Sprint Cup Race
Jeff Gordon - Starts 43rd and ends up 2nd, should have had 4th, but thanks for the bad luck of Greg Biflator and Jimmy Johnson, he ends up 2nd. They made great adjustments all day and steadily improved. Like they say, years from now it will be a 2nd place finish and thats whats in the record books. Great Job Jeff.
Jimmy Johnson - All I can say is he is going to be hard to beat this year for his 4th championship in a row. This team is on fire, you take away the last two weeks gas mileage issues, and we might be talking about him winning 2 in a row. Mark my words, he is going to be hard to beat.
Dale Jr - Well his MO for the last couple years has been to have a decent car at the start, to improve on it thru the middle of the race, then falter at the end. This week was the first week Lance McGrew had the full race weekend (rain at Pocono) to work with Jr. It showed for sure, he had a 10-15th place car all day and when he usually drops off he didn't, he sustained! Great Job Dale, I think you and Lance are on the road to recovery, and I bet he wins a race before the end of the year. I don't think he will make the chase though, he is just too far back.
Mark Martin - WOW, I am not sure what you can say, this guy is just beating the kids to the punch, he was never up front until the end. He did his typical Mark race, save his stuff, gas, etc... Then at the end he started to make up spots. He even mentioned on the Radio he would just run for points (before race he was 13th, on the outside looking in on the chase) and boy did he. He put himself in posistion to take the win by slowly but surely making his way to the front. When the first two guys ran out of gas he just motored by. Typical Mark Martin, great job Old Man! ![]()
TNT - Too many commercials, I don't like the new Wallys world now. I liked it when he would take people out on the track and scare the shit out of them, that is classic tv. I like Kyle Petty in the booth. He has some funny lines, multiple times he was talking when the radio chatter was going. When he was told, he says "hey I used to drive a race car, I can't hear anything". Classic. But we have a ways to go with this crew, we shall see. At least they don't have the same love fest for KB as Fox did, that is a good thing!
Funniest tv show on right now = Wipeout on ABC, I can't get over how funny it is, tears stream down my face when I watch. It's on tomorrow night make sure to try to watch it.
Till next time...
Ps. Sorry for the previous reference to more info on Pocono, just didn't feel it...
F1 - Monaco
By admin on May 24, 2009 | In MotorSports (Nascar, F1, Bikes..)
Well race one of the 3 race day is done and congrats to Jenson Button for his brilliant victory on the Streets of Monaco. Yes I got up at 6:30AM to watch this race, I love F1, but as I said in an earlier post I am not all that excited about this year due to the changes and the ways the car looks. You have to understand, Monaco is the Daytona/Indy for F1, the streets they race on are very wavy and not very wide. There is even a part of the race that runs through a tunnel. The exit of the tunnel is pretty spectacular as when your in the tunnel it is much darker than when your in of course. When you exit the tunnel it is a burst of sunshine and has to have an effect on the drivers. Of course I don't know for sure, but if you have seen it you would know what I mean. It was a great day for Ferrari, as they came in 3rd and 4th. Kimi and Felipe respectively, this means they have improved their car after a terrible start to the season. I am happy about this, as I am a bit Ferrari fan. Kimi also said during the post race interview that there are more changes coming to the car, so at the next race in Turkey I am hoping for even better results from Ferrari!
I am sure I will have to succumb to a nap at some point in the day, but that is ok, as this is the greatest RACE day of the year.
Next on tap is the Indy 500, I am pulling for Helio. I hope he does well due to what he went through earlier in the year.
Next after the 500 is the biggest of them all and the longest the Coke a Cola 600. The only 600 mile race on the Nascar schedule. Hendrick Motorsports always does well here, so I expect a great race from Jeff, Jimmy, Mark and Dale Jr. I am pulling for Jeff Gordon to win!
Formula1
By Rp3 on Apr 27, 2009 | In MotorSports (Nascar, F1, Bikes..)
Well as you know, or maybe you don't, I am a Nascar fanboy for sure, but really a Motorsports fan. I think Forumal1 has taken a huge step back this year. I will discuss my thoughts in points below. I don't watch F1 anymore, as it comes on at stupid hours in the US. The cars, well they aren't what I think the most tech advanced thing should look like. Well on to the Points.
1. The Cars
Cons
They have lowered down force, but brought back slicks. Net affect, is about 2-3% less speed and not much passing. The cars look like they belong in the 70's with the Thin/Tall rear wing, and the HUGE front wing which is almost on the ground. Not impressed, hate the way the cars look!
Pros
They removed all the extra winglets that some teams would put all over the car! Yea!
2. The Teams
Many people would be happy that McLaren-Mercedes and Ferrari are literally in the back, but not me, those two teams ARE F1. It's not good when they are in the back! Next thing you know you will see Force-India on the podium. NOOOOOOOOO
3. Bernie
Need I say more?
4. KERS
Great idea, bad implementation. In a time when we should be cost cutting (2010 budgets anyone) we introduce KERS. It's almost killed someone, it's too heavy, and honestly not that exciting. Maybe the races in the rain have been the issue, but I think most teams are going to ditch it, so what good is that?
5. Brawn GP
Ok this one is actually a great story, but would have Honda been this good? Of course they have the questionable diffuser, as does Toyota, but Jenson Button going 3 out of 4? That's Michael Schumacher like numbers!
6. Times the races come on.
It used to be the races would start at all hours, but at least I could watch a couple that didn't start at 3-4AM, but this year Bernie has changed the schedules so all the races start around noon in Europe. So what does that mean for me? Well all races come on about 3-4 in the morning. This sucks, I would think the US is a big market for F1 but yet we get the short end of the stick?
Ok a couple things, but really I am most disappointed with the Ferrari's. Yes I like the team, and no I don't have one. I wish I did. I thought they would be better prepared, of course they are one of the teams with the 'slow' diffuser so maybe later in the year they will come back. At least they scored some points this past weekend, but still long ways from where we expect them to be. Not sure I like the way the years shaping up, but Formula 1 Magazine sure does. Yes I will still watch when I can, but only replays, stayed up for the Aussie GP but I can't do that every weekend

Talledega Baby...
By Rp3 on Apr 24, 2009 | In MotorSports (Nascar, F1, Bikes..)
Ok so I love Nascar, I admit it. The cars, the colors, the personalitys it's all great. Although I am not a huge fan of restrictor plate racing (this is what is going on this weekend) it's still Nascar and it's still 500 miles of fun. Or at least sometimes it is. The Hendrick stable should do well, as always, but you never know when 43 cars are tightly packed going 195mph. Yes restrictor plate racing at it's best, you don't have to worry about handling at Talladega just put the accelerator on the floor and go fast! I want to one day visit this monster of a track, did I mention its 2.66 miles in length?, as the parties are as legendary as the racing itself. I have heard many a good one from there.
Well anyway, I am going to root for the guy I always root for, Jeff Gordon. Some say I am a bandwagoneer since I root for the best driver (yes he is) but I have rooted/cheered for Jeff back when he drove the Baby Ruth car in the Busch series. How many of you knew that? I also have rooted for Jeff Gordon every time he has come to Texas Motor Speedway and never won. Well until a couple weeks ago
.. So hell yea, he is my driver and my driver only. I always pick him with friends, or anyone who wants to place a bet. Yes I am a rabbid fan you could say, but hey that's Nascar!
