How to setup Canon PIXMA ip1800 on Ubuntu..

Down load these two files. Canon Common files (right click save as)HERECanon IP1800 Series (right click save as)HERE
Connect your printer via USB and turn on, it must be on before you continue.
If you're using Hardy, install the libglib1.2 package first.
Install both of the above packages, beginning with the common package first, by double-clicking on them. This will open the package(es) in GDebi. Click the Install Package button, and specify your password.
Or, using the command line:
% sudo dpkg -i ~/replace with location of files/cnijfilter-common_2.70-2_i386.deb
% sudo dpkg -i ~/replace with location of files/cnijfilter-ip1800_2.70-2_i386.deb
Next
Open the CUPS Web Interface by pointing your browser to http://localhost:631/, click the Printers tab then Modify Printer, then Continue. On the second screen you have to select which device you want to use, select the one that reads something like this: USB Printer #1 with status readback for Canon IJ. Click Continue, select Canon, click Continue, select the Canon iP1800 series Ver.2.70 (en) driver and click the Modify Printer button. Step 5: Restart CUPS
% sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys restart
Your Canon Pixma iP1800 printer is now ready to rock 'n' roll.
